Kupka or the telepathic Origin of Abstraction

To coincide with the exhibition František Kupka. Works from the Collection of the Centre Pompidou the MPM is organising a seminar that aims to establish the context for Kupka’s life, work and times, and for the key issues within his particular aesthetic approach. The seminar consists of four sessions and will count on the participation of: Brigitte Léal, Associate Director and Head of Collections at the Musée National d’Art Moderne-Centre de Création Industrielle (MNAM-CCI) and curator of the present exhibition; Francisco Jarauta, senior professor of Philosophy at the University of Murcia; Pascal Rousseau, professor at the François-Rabelais University, Tours; and Maite Méndez, academic co-ordinator of this seminar and titular professor of Contemporary Art at the University of Malaga.
